Ever wake up feeling sick to the bone about going to work? Do you feel like you’re living a nightmare and not being who you were meant to be? Here are 9 proven steps to successfully pursuing the life you truly desire, because the life you want truly wants you too.
Make yourself think thankful thoughts daily.
It’s easy to start thinking about all the things you’re stressed about, all the things you may not have, or what you think is wrong with you and your life. But those thoughts are a myth that keep you from growing. Before you put your feet on the ground, repeat to yourself everything you’re grateful for. Have your favorite quote written on your bathroom mirror. Stick your favorite message to your refrigerator door. Tape thoughts of gratitude inside your car to keep your thoughts on the right track as you drive.

Create a large board of all your dreams and goals (AKA: Dream Board).
Go out and invest in a large cork board or hefty poster board and start posting your biggest dreams and goals on there so you can always have them directly in front of you. It’s a great reminder that no matter what oppositions you face, you’re on the right track to getting to your destination.

Identify the problem.
“The first thing to do is to ask yourself what’s wrong,” Alexander Kjerulf, an international author and speaker on happiness at work. Do you feel under-appreciated at your job? Underpaid? Do you wish you didn’t have to leave your kids every morning, only to return home as they’re about to go to sleep? Do you feel like where you’re at is not who you were meant to be? These are 95% of everyone’s problem. You are not alone. Many succumb to these feelings and become numb to this “matrix”, never doing anything to fix it. Start creating your own economy part-time…something you’re passionate about, to help you eventually step away from your job. If you aren’t living your passion (what you envision yourself doing on any given average day), you aren’t living a meaningful life.

Make a bucket list for the year & DO IT!
There are things we all dream of doing, seeing, participating in, and accomplishing. Write some of these things down that you INTEND on doing this year. Do whatever it takes to accomplish these. If something in your life holds you back from doing so, burn that bridge and get laser focused. No one lives your life but you. No one pays your bills but you. No one takes care of your family but you.

There are moments when you feel overwhelmed. There are moments when you feel so stressed, you aren’t sure where to turn. There can also be moments where your brain seems to stop functioning and you want to scream. Completely, and unfortunately normal. In these moments, don’t be afraid to say you need to take a moment. Unplug. Recharge. Regroup. Go take a walk. Grab an audio or podcast and soak it up. Meditate. Go take a drive to your favorite nearby peaceful place and soak up the nature around you. No matter how long it takes—even if you need a few hours—it’s okay. Do it. Your body, mind, and spirit will thank you.

Just say no.
In order to move forward, keep laser focused, and stay on top of your goals, you need to be okay with saying no. Always be willing to get outside your comfort zone. Always be willing to stretch yourself and grow. Don’t be the “Jack of all trades, but the master of none.” Once you’ve mastered one thing, move on to the next!

Take a look at your relationships.
Are the people in your life sucking up your good vibrations? Do the people in your life have great marriages, family values, make good financial decisions, spirituality, and ambition? You become like the 5 people you spend the most time with, so be around people who are life-breathing and stretch you to be better than you were yesterday.

Don’t share your struggles until you’ve overcome them.
Ever studied the basics of law of attraction? You attract what you speak. Everyone struggles, but it’s those who share their struggles before they’ve overcome them who never really grow. They always seem make excuses and attract those in their life who share the same problems. Don’t speak your problems until you’ve overcome them. It’s how you take the lead in your life, attract positivity, and will really reap a harvest of incredible fruits.

Put the right things in your body.
The food and liquids you put in your body reflect how your body responds to the world. Are you stretching daily? Meditating? Exercising? Going for walks? Playing a sport? Take a deep look at the foods you put in your mouth and ask yourself if you’re swallowing the right energy. Develop compassionate eating habits and fill your body with fluids that naturally improve your body, not put it into super-overdrive. This can be a huge struggle for people in a fast-paced world. The life you want truly wants you too. Attaining it is possible, but it will require hard work, dedication, and commitment to your success. Believe that you can, and you’re halfway there.
